Tonight’s Haiku: Along The Shore

Along the shore in Edmonds

underneath the sun
walking along the shoreline
grace within winter

Along the Shore

Along the shore

walking by the shore
with geese bobbing in the surf
gentle signs of spring

What happens to a dream deferred?

Does it dry up
like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a soreโ€”
And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar overโ€”
like a syrupy sweet?

Maybe it just sags
like a heavy load.

Or does it explode?
