This morning’s haiku: the morning darkness

the morning darkness
dawn still below the mountains 
as I seek stillness

rain's sparkling jewels 
gently illuminated
under the streetlights

as the grey clouds move
an autumn storm approaches 
brutally cruel air

Created this graphic/haiku as I watch the latest storm approach the Seattle area.

Snowy day

autumnal snowfall 
graceful motion in silence 
stopping soon enough

snow flurries
through the streetlight's gaze
silence

grey clouds
vessel of 
autumnal rain

sunlight through the firs 
koi moving in the pond 
tapping of raindrops

underneath the rain
leaves glistening like jewels 
as the sunlight fades

within my office
sunlight warming the cactus 
it embraces joy

these late autumn leaves 
remain affixed to the trees
