A Haiku for a rainy Wednesday

This one didn’t get published for some reason. I do love it, so am sharing it now.

Rain’s sound consumes me

Voices carried through the night

Soothing my soul

A Morning Meditation: Jealousy

Today’s Haiku:

Focus lost with ease

Jealousy’s dangerous voice

Broken clarity

It is an easy trap, losing myself into comparisons. The resulting lack of focus damages my journey. Seek, then, clarity and my eyes pointed towards love.

Lies I tell myself

Echoing voices

Brief flickers of

Light behind my

Eyes seeing potential

Birthed by different

Choices of a life

Not lived

Caught unwary

Tinged these

With regret

Painful loss

Of a false future

A lie told to

Myself

Though I love haiku, I also love creating longer works and free verse.

My family, trampled by the flu

My son has pretty much recovered from the latest stomach bug…now it’s my wife’s turn

Abruptly awake

Weary of microbes cruel work

Fearful I am next

Parenting Woes

This winter’s night calls

Unasked for and painful gifts

The vomit fairy

Ah, awake with a sick kid.

An unpleasant night time filling my time for rest.
