The pain
Is all
That I
Am
Migraine’s Doom
The pain
Is all
That I
Am
poetry, prose, and photography
The pain
Is all
That I
Am
So begins doom
Tendons within the neck
Pulled, slowly, growing
Into ferocity, mercy unknown.
Powerless, collapsing within.
Seeking, simply, to continue
To exist upon the other side.
Survival, sometimes, a worthy
Goal.
Clear my mind
Still the racing thoughts
Images, feelings colliding
Madly against mental
Walls
Winter claws forwards
Gentleness of Autumn gone
Sharp teeth are now bared
Northwest winter rains
Calming my mind deep within
Strange comforts I find
Frightful beasts wander
Unfettered upon the earth
Freed by a sunrise.
Inspiration dry.
Exhaustion creeping throughout.
Gray skies crushing me.
Air flows calmly down.
Teeth of winter’s brutal bite
Tranquil snows falling.
Emptiness is strange
Driving me within again.
Energy lacking.
Warmth of waves flowing
Encasing me: warmth, kindness,
This dangerous friend.
