Early Morning Haze

Early morning haze

Sunlight hampered by the smoke

Disrupting autumn

Another smoky, hazy day here in Seattle. The air quality is expected to be slightly better than yesterday. It should continue to get better as the week progresses. I look forward to breathable air.

The bees keep working

Honey bees at work

Through the intense sun

And air choked with smoke moving

The bees keep working

The air in the greater Seattle has been filled with the smoke of many fires. Carried by the wind miles, a gift to be choked, I guess. The bees seem unperturbed.

Seattle Smoke

Smoky skies in Seattle, September 8, 2020

The featured image is out my front door, trying to capture the smoky haze that’s descended upon Seattle. My lungs hurt a bit, my eyes sting, and I feel for my asthmatic friends and the misery they’re going through.

Autumn Approaches

Woke to wind chimes’ song

Gentle motion of the air

Harbinger of fall

I love the sound of my wind chimes. Today, the pre-dawn morning air cool. Autumn approaches! September just days away, which I delight in. Though I need to trade my shorts and sandals for pants and sweaters, I find that fair.

Bees on the flower, tonight’s Haiku

The grace of daylight
From the sky across the leaves
This dance of the bees

Walking in the evening light, a bee moves from petal to petal. Summer moves forward.
