Porchlight Haiku

The light has faded
I see my breath by porch light
The song of raindrops

A cool, drearily rainy end to the day. Chilled into discomfort, but not pain, only the mildest of inconveniences. But December approaches quickly, even though we still have trees with leaves on them.

Friday Evening

The sun descending
Western mountains afire
Reaching for my dreams

It’s been a frenetic week, but productively so.

Autumn

A autumn haiku

autumn progresses
but the trees are not yet bare
this briskly cold morn

I took this photo while out on my walk yesterday. My fondness for autumn soothes me in these angry times.

Photo by me, created in Adobe Spark.

An Evening Haiku

Moving through the night

The silence surrounding me

And leaves under foot

A Blustery Day

sprinting clouds move past
trees bow, respecting the wind
leaves racing downwards

Autumn Leaves At Sunset

night sings quietly
leaves continuing to fall
wind chimes at sunset

A Happy Halloween Haiku

disliking horror
I find comfort in children’s
explorations of self

A Wednesday Morning Meditation

what does the sun risk

climbing up eastern mountains

quiet autumn morn

Is a rather cool autumn morning just north of Seattle. Grey skies filtering sunlight. For me, this is peaceful and calm.

How is you Wednesday shaping up?

Autumn Daisies

though expecting rain
the daisies are unimpressed
within the cool air

On my walk I noticed these fellows resisting autumn’s influence. Though lots of rain predicted for today, it remained remarkably dry. These daisies seem rather pleased.

An Autumn Haiku

this fading sunlight
breeze stirring the fallen leaves
memories drift past
