Tuesday Haiku

Delight in the night
Evening’s tranquility full
Dusk bringing calmness

Heat caused restlessness
Hear the unknown insect song
Now the robins call

Comfortable with rage
Reflexive feeling for us
Destruction’s fast lane

Rising due to fears
My insecurity check
Yes, my doors are locked

Waking in the night, checking the doors and windows. Instead of a security check, I’ve taken to calling these my insecurity checks.

A day in sunlight
With friends, these dearest people
Living a blessed life

Birds sing free of care
Below sunlit grass some sleep
Silent war echos

Gazing towards the stars
I’m filled with wonder and hope
Our future lies there

Sun barely risen
Cooling breeze moving wind chimes
This day of calmness

Spring’s echos fading
Cool breeze removes vestiges
The cusp of summer
