Germs descended here
Embattled body withers
May healing soon come
Tag: Daily Haiku
I adore the simplicity, as well as the challenge of Haiku. The constraints focus my mind, seeking out the essence of the moment, feeling, notion, distilling it to brilliant singularity.
My goal: to post at least one haiku a day.
A Memorial Day Meditation
Upon these moments
Fields of grass with stone scribed names
Silence tells the tale
History beckons
Upon windy voice,
Echoes of history call;
Resist cyclic doom.
Reality
See culture’s mirror
Brutality’s rough edges
Reality’s pain
Nighttime in Shanghai
Nighttime in Shanghai
Light escaping darkness
Glittering brilliance
Seattle’s Skies
Misty clouds drifting
Stretched by fir and cedar boughs
Grasping longingly
Happy Friday
And so, now Friday
Relief for so many souls
However briefly
Descending Sun
Darkness expanding
Growing from hidden places
Sunlight fades anew
Outward Vision
Staring from within
Push past fearful reactions
Outwards our focus
Towards Light
Life arcs towards the light
Seeking freedom from sorrow
Bitterness wanes, too
