Father and child
Gazing upon Christmas lights
Embracing wonder
poetry, prose, and photography
I adore the simplicity, as well as the challenge of Haiku. The constraints focus my mind, seeking out the essence of the moment, feeling, notion, distilling it to brilliant singularity.
My goal: to post at least one haiku a day.

Father and child
Gazing upon Christmas lights
Embracing wonder
dawn’s promise rises
I listen intently
as the crows argue

clear autumnal morn
bare branches in the still air
refreshed by silence

Morning arrives
Sunlight ascending
Through autumn mists

The sun descending
Western mountains afire
Reaching for my dreams
It’s been a frenetic week, but productively so.

sprinting clouds move past
trees bow, respecting the wind
leaves racing downwards

dawn moves through the clouds
hope ripples through the puddles
tea’s steam awakens
A Seattle autumn morning, rainy and cool. Strange senses of home.

through the evening rain
beyond the coming darkness
sun in the future

night sings quietly
leaves continuing to fall
wind chimes at sunset

disliking horror
I find comfort in children’s
explorations of self
