Today’s Haiku

just a few dark clouds 
a rain squall abruptly forms
soon the sun returns

wonders of springtime
flowers within the sunlight
birdsong fills the air

the sunlight fading
while the grace of spring flowers
bursts upon the trees

every bouquet 
begins with a single stem
blessings of springtime

This morning I went for a walk in Edmonds, one of my favorite things to do. I came across these daffodils, then came up with this haiku later.

within winter's depths 
and sunlight's power reduced 
life resists the gloom

after the rainfall 
sunlight moves from behind clouds 
summer reaches far

evening light descends 
boisterous colors emerge 
glory of flowers

as the daylight fades
the dahlia glows in the sunlight
bringing the bees joy

beads upon petals 
ghosts of the recent rainfall 
then sunlight returns

Saw this flower while walking around town recently. I loved it and wanted to share.
