A Rainy Day

relentless clouds
rains continues through daylight
and into the night

with a single puff
sunlight flickers on my dreams 
drifting down my breath

these giant tulips
petals beginning to fall 
springtime keeps moving

sunlight filled with love
flowing through the morning clouds
cherry blossoms fall

early morning 
between the raindrops 
I hear God's voice

another dawn breaks

more moments of spring’s glory

drift upon the breeze

under the sunlight 
these joyous echoes of spring
fading so quickly

clouds upon the wind
as flowers sing to the sun
birds oblivious

morning rain 
delighting flowers
rich memories

Seattle, famous for its rain. For some, the accompanying gloom saddens. For me, though, I feel tranquility. These rain soaked firs are home.

the grace of sunlight
with the clouds moving southwards
this pause in the rain
