An early morning haiku, March 12, 2026

kindness's beauty
gracefully upon petals
amidst the dew drops

awaiting sunlight 
car engines join their choir 
the motion of life

waiting for dawn
eastern hills remain dark 
rattling raindrops

pre-dawn darkness 
my heart is louder 
than my mind

cloudy morn
chatter from the crows
collaboration

memories of dusk
treetops hidden by the night 
silent memories

the rose does not 
compare its beauty 
to the daffodil

a moment of rain
then the sun bursts forth
what does the future hold?

awakened by self-doubt

criticizing all I've done

so I face within

resisting these words

embracing all that I am

keep moving forward

the abyss’ edge
I finally stare within
seeing myself stare back
