Autumn Dawn

limbs mostly bare 
a few tenacious leaves cling
dawn's light creeps westward

‪sitting patiently ‬
‪on tendrils of autumn mist ‬
‪another fly’s doom ‬

silk architecture
abandoned upon my porch
a cold autumn wind

the grace of sunlight
within the cool autumn air
glimmers of beauty

through the autumn storms
the rose's tenacity
shines through today's sun

these tenacious leaves
their grip strong through wind and rain
while the air grows cold

within falling rain
I stop my walk to gaze at
this resilient rose

the grace of sunlight
gently passing through the clouds
standing on moist earth

Saw this on today’s walk. I don’t know this tree, though. Do you?

cold autumnal rain
with intermittent blue skies
alone with my thoughts

upwards through the leaves
lazy clouds oblivious 
air cooling my face

Raindrops on Petals

a break in the rain
sunlight creeps out from the clouds
the moment passes

Took this photo earlier this week. Lately, I’ve loved the effect of raindrops on leaves and petals. I hope you do, too.
