Morning Rain

sitting with my tea 
where I am quite dry and warm 
amidst the rainfall

raindrops on rooftops
a song across my morning
for morning tea

morning rain 
delighting flowers
rich memories

Seattle, famous for its rain. For some, the accompanying gloom saddens. For me, though, I feel tranquility. These rain soaked firs are home.

this burst of blossoms
underneath these moving clouds
a break in the rain

sunlight 
through clouds and leaves
the song of spring

a day of sunlight
new life gracefully drooping
hints of spring's return

dancing in the grass 
juncos feeding in the rain
what do they ponder?

though the air's still cold
the days are growing longer
hints of spring arise

dark clouds to the west
despite the ominous signs
continue moving

cold autumnal rain 
sunlight returned joyfully 
memories at night

I was able to fit a walk in between rain and wind. Found this lovely bundle of resistance peeking through the shrubs.
