Awoke beautifully
Birds calling boldly
Predawn
poetry, prose, and photography
At this late hour
My mind prattles forth nonsense
Memories break free
Each minute pops up
Opportunities to spend
Always needing more
I awoke to bird song
A bush awash in voices
In this darkness: spring
Oh peanut butter
Deep within my intestines
My abundant life
Engine’s rumbling
Masses of plastic and steel
Suburbia lives
Softly blowing wind
The tree’s motion rattles leaves
White noise moaning
