Ground down from despair
Filled with negativity
Hating the word “fun”
Author: Carl Setzer
A Binary Haiku
Fearfulness
Distant echoes play
Emotions raised from my past
Words obscured by time.
Insecurities
Insecurities
Flickering across my mind
Sleep brutalized
Today’s Haiku Challenge: Long
Critical to climb
Ascend to the greatest heights
Thus see the long view
My response to “Today’s @baffled #HaikuChallenge: any haiku you like, as long as it has the word ‘long’ in it….” on Twitter.
Walking Memories: A Haiku
Reflect on myself
Walking upon these same streets
Changed and new blended.
Walking Memories
Walking upon old roads
My childhood feet trode.
Memories, feelings lurking
Forgotten flit forth, bird-like;
A flicker upon consciousness
Vanishing like morning fog
Leaving no trace save the
Dream-like phantom reflection
Of my youth.
A Spring Morning
Sunlight drifts on wind
Cool intensity floating
Flowers greet the morn
Soul’s Creation
Journeys create souls
Deepening our deepest depths
First step: send ourselves.
Childhood’s Collapse
Daily decay’s
Raging presence
Death’s fragrance
Fills me deeply.
Then that morning’s
Ragged breathing,
Brutal truth of
Impending silence.
