a break in the rain
sunlight drifting downwards
through cherry blossoms
poetry, prose, and photography
I adore the simplicity, as well as the challenge of Haiku. The constraints focus my mind, seeking out the essence of the moment, feeling, notion, distilling it to brilliant singularity.
My goal: to post at least one haiku a day.

a break in the rain
sunlight drifting downwards
through cherry blossoms

the glorious sky
I'm watching the cloud's motion
new life in the sun

as flowers arise glories of springtime renewed boisterous colors
The past few days have seen this rhododendron, long part of my front yard, erupting with blooms. Though my allergies are now in full fury, I still delight in these.
This poem is my response to the Word of the Day Challenge. Today’s word is “Arise”.

grasping for sunlight while we move into springtime though the rains come soon
I clearly delight in photographing flowers, especially in the spring. These are simply near me, spotted on my neighborhood walk. Shot on my Samsung S22 and unedited.

morning rains flow
through cold spring morning air
graceful life renewed
my gutters sing
within the tranquil rain
lulling me to sleep

through rain, snow and hail
when the sky erupts in blue
tranquility's joy

these glories of spring
briefly feeding today's bees
moments in the rain
