I adore the simplicity, as well as the challenge of Haiku. The constraints focus my mind, seeking out the essence of the moment, feeling, notion, distilling it to brilliant singularity.
My goal: to post at least one haiku a day.
walking every day
my delightful new habit
feeling the sunlight
Today’s Word of the Day Challenge is to use the word “Habit”. As one of my key foci in 2021 has been daily walks, this seems a relevant post. This photo is from one my neighborhood parks from a walk this week.
cool air descending
the breeze moving gracefully
cherry blossoms dance
a day in sunlight
amidst the cherry blossoms
chatty Stellers Jays
on the edge of night
I’m walking beneath the wind
a gentle rain falls
springtime’s glories
sunlight moves through the petals
wary of the breeze
who can disparage
the wind’s grace within the sky
bird’s dance on the wing
