Ah, Coffee!

Coffee is lovely
It keeps my brain functioning
Keenly important

The future? Murky.
I stare into the unknown
A strange investment

This month’s one last day

So much potential has passed

This day can still be seized

the day begins

morning’s power embraces

coffee: come fuel me!

Inspired by sunlight

I walk through the morn

I’m matched step for step

I sit with my tea

The well kept garden beckons

Grasses at perfect angles

Greeted by grey skies
Whispers of rain on the wind
Noise of life: awake

Nightfall has arrived
The end of this perfect day
Sunlight shifting to rain

A girl at the beach
Carrying a water bucket
Flicking water from
Her fingers
A baptism

As I remember
Those lights stolen by our wars
Praying that we’ve learned
