Today’s challenge

A challenging today
Turning off the modern mind
Breathing in fresh air

Patience in anger,
This discipline of the mind
Saves one regret’s pain

The briefness of life
Should give us pause about time
As it fades away

I now stare within
Frightened by my ignorance
Suddenly birdsong

Sunlight exhausted
Sky bound colors delightful
Quietude calms me

Another day now
Laden with expectations
Misty rains linger

Knowledge’s power
Dimensional awareness
Mathematical dreams

Walking through sunlight
Warmth flowing across my skin
Happy spring is here

One must face fevers
Upon which success depends
It needs more cowbell

A storm faces me
Destruction; my own making
Irrational fears
