Enlightenment’s Mercies

Metal descends
Hissing loudly
Linear flow
Impacting bone
Nerves, spine
Seperated from
Itself. These
Strange acts
Of brutal
Mercy.

Suburban Steps

Weariness grabs my soul
Dragging eyes downwards
Below my stride, footsteps
Striking quietly upon
Concrete, stone, pedestrian
Elements of suburban life.

Possibilities

I cannot explain
The depths of my heart
Nor can anyone clearly.

Perhaps that’s
What’s meant by
“We’re alone”.

Yet, when we go
Deeper than words
Touching souls becomes

Possible.
