Too much time on the internet: a haiku

Oh, the internet!
I made a mistake today
Witnessed ugliness

Yeah, spent too much time this evening reading terrible news stories. Humanity’s ability for brutality stuns me beyond all sensibility.

I’ve found that I need to find the good when faced with this. Go create, seek out beauty and kindness.

So, here I am.

I don’t understand trolls or bullies

I don’t understand

The drive for savage cruelty

Life’s brutal enough

Internet trolls puzzle me greatly. What do they seem to accomplish? What is their goal? It just seems so much easier to build others up than tear them down.

Thoughts on womenhood

Drifting through blogs

Reading words

Burning from hearts

Women defined solely

By shape, size, skin….

Always found wanting

“Ugliness” a weapon

Sharper than steel

Wounds so deep

Blood flows into the soul

Drowning from within

Brutality’s Dream

The world existing
Entrenched brutality deep
Sunlight clears the fog

Gulfs and Such

Upon the edge I sit,
Staring across
A gulf of white,
Brutal, bitter, cold
Sings it’s song
Of death and delight.
And I know, within
My being’s depths
That the path across
Is life, vigorous and true,
Fully, finally alive.
