Labor Day: A Haiku

Thanks to those who stood
Refusing to accept things
And speak for justice

Judgement

Arrogance’s ease
Our superiority
Disconnecting us

This Morning’s #Haiku: Defining Sacrifice

Sometimes sacrifice
Simply feels like the payment
For a greater life
A thought upon waking this morning. I hope your Sunday revitalizes you.

A Meditation On Beauty, And Our Cruel Nature

Life’s immense beauty
Gets overshadowed sometimes
By crass destruction

It concerns me, at times, how much we prefer destructive rhetoric over the positive. There are times I wonder if we, as a group, know how.

Diversity: This Morning’s Haiku

Oh diversity;
Respecting our different
Experiences

Perhaps

Perhaps I cannot

Change much in

This broken world

Where cynicism

Valued more

Than compassion.

Perhaps.

Embracing Enigma

My mind is weary
Yet embracing enigma
So much left to learn

I seek to accept my ignorance. Embracing that others hold knowledge I lack. In a place which highly values knowledge, preferring even the illusion, I find such an attitude unique.

Politics, Amongst Other Things

Life plays out

Upon this

Chessboard of deceit

Their compassion a fraud
