A Binary Haiku

One zero zero

Zero one zero one one

One one zero one

Distant echoes play
Emotions raised from my past
Words obscured by time.

Insecurities
Flickering across my mind
Sleep brutalized

Critical to climb
Ascend to the greatest heights
Thus see the long view

Reflect on myself
Walking upon these same streets
Changed and new blended.

Sunlight drifts on wind
Cool intensity floating
Flowers greet the morn

Journeys create souls
Deepening our deepest depths
First step: send ourselves.

Air moving with grace
Bright colors dance lightly now
Resisting still air

Letters assembled
Upon page or bright screen
Terror to power

Gentleness descends
Compassion’s greatness saves me
Branches bloom anew
