Ah, Cherry Blossoms!

sunlight’s downward path

as I wander past the fears

ah, cherry blossoms!

March 10, 2020: Cherry Blossoms

more sunlight each day
and the grace of warmer days
cherry blossoms bloom

Daffodils: Tonight’s Haiku

while the jays chatter

The Past, The Future, Focus

stories of the past

yet I look to the future

I am far from done

Met a really cool guy today. A former Navy nuclear power program sailor, just like me. Though he is quite a bit younger.

Swapped stories of our respective experiences, which I enjoyed. Yet I often worry in those moments that I’ll become like the subject of Bruce Springsteen’s “Glory Days”, a relic, trapped in the past. Grave fate, for me, at least.

The Ampersand

Ah, the ampersand!

A glorious path

Uniting, bringing

Ideas, people,

All things

Together

Winter’s Skies

winter’s skies return
sun obscured by dark rain clouds
spring’s grace is quite near

A haiku over tea

Some afternoon tea

Combined with a tasty lunch

Spring’s not quite here yet

Enjoying a lite bite at Edmonds’ Red Twig. A lovely cafe with tasty food, lovely coffee and a good selection of teas, it’s a favorite stop for many of our neighbors.
