after the rain
a single blossom
sunlight returns
poetry, prose, and photography
I adore the simplicity, as well as the challenge of Haiku. The constraints focus my mind, seeking out the essence of the moment, feeling, notion, distilling it to brilliant singularity.
My goal: to post at least one haiku a day.

after the rain
a single blossom
sunlight returns
glories of summer
dancing upon these petals
always seeking grace

summer breezes
the delight of bees
and hummingbirds
dawn drifts through the trees
gently rousing the songbirds
early morning dew
Laying here in bed, recovering. I, like so many others, have fallen to covid’s cruelty. Fortunately for me, the effects have been relatively minor. Extreme fatigue, a steady cough, intense congestion remain. Yesterday’s fever subsided this morning, along with the throat so sore swallowing was painful.
summer heat fades
a breeze bringing relief
windchimes sing
A fever during 90 degree heat…added unpleasantries. Today’s much cooler weather granted deep relief. I’m grateful.
so much cruelty
fury trafficked rage
politics of pain
With all the recent news, I feel sadness. Will this society heal? What will rise from these ashes? Is there any beauty left?
I wonder.

the joy of a rose
beside the white, picket fence
greeting summertime

boisterous life
vibrance of summertime
hummingbird's delights

under the sunlight
flowers reaching for the sky
the grace of her dreams

a pause in the mist
roses revealing their names
petals on the wind

near the trees rose
from underneath the past rain
a new day is born
