the ocean’s motion
waves moving across the earth
continuously
Here is my contribution to the Word of the Day Challenge. Today’s word is “wave”. Having spent so much of my life near the ocean, this is the first place my mind went. I did think a bit about writing about physics, but, well, I decided oceans were more lovely.

Heavy rain at dawn
Hints of sunlight through the clouds
Wind chimes play softly
rain-laden dark clouds
Seattle’s signs of autumn
leaves starting to change
a crane fly’s motion
under the bathroom lights
returned to freedom
clouds across the sky
dancing upon mountain tops
my grandmother’s voice
the bees speak in code
can we hope to understand
secrets of petals?
holding back the dawn
grey skies resisting sunlight
grace of rain soaked leaves
It’s a classic Seattle autumn morning. One that I delight in. I hope your autumn is off to a good start.
Today’s Word of the Day Challenge: Elation
sunlight climbs mountains
elation and jubilee
a new day is born
rain’s grace
clouds hiding the sun’s face
beloved fresh air
Seattle’s rain is most welcome.
Memories of spring
Rain rippling in puddles
Thinking of sweaters
Today filled with rain, cleansing Seattle’s air of the lingering smoke. Very, very welcome indeed.
Just a few days until autumn. Though I look forward to sweater weather, I dread the greater resistance to spending time outside. Something to overcome.
