A Haiku Response To The Word of the Day Challenge

My contribution to today’s Word of the Day Challenge: Sand. I, being me, opt for a haiku.

memories of sand
I love the smell of the beach
the winds from the west

Haiku Response: May 20, 2020

This photo called to me for a haiku, and I was delighted to oblige.

the sun slips below
warm blazing orange blankets
when will the stars dance?

Wednesday Morning Haiku

in this morning calm

do not rush; embrace the calm

near the feasting bees

Ah, the beauty of mornings. No one else awake, the sun rising, hidden by trees and clouds. A perfect Seattle morning…for me, at least.

A haiku from this evening’s walk

below the sunset

and the glorious red sky

soon the songbirds sleep

Moving through my neighborhood, a suburb of Seattle, as the sun does as it must. Gravity’s handiwork across this sky. Rain started to fall as I neared home.

A Poetic Response To Klass

I discovered Tom Ashbrook this week (Spotify’s algorithms can do good work) and wanted to share this with you all.

bodies in motion
light moving across my ears
seducing my soul
