In Motion

Dreams of motion

Cars and vans, across deserts

Sunlight’s glaring strength

The forces of life drive hard

Each day waking

I’m the same bed

With different views

Outside this glass

Wheels sparkle in the day

Transitions happen

Do not give into fear

Do not give in to fear

Each step of acquiesce

Feeds the beast

Growing it

Face it down!

Demand it sit

Then lay down

Into the dirt

Acknowledging

Your power

Forward Motion

It’s always time

For forward motion

To step away from my past

Into my future

As the present fades

Into dust

Seattle and This Morning’s Smoke

Early morning light

Filtered by smoke

Rising from California

Demanding access

To my lungs

Though I resist

My coughing

And sneezing

State clearly

I have lost

Good Night

The night has come

Motion is now stilling

Dream’s demands coming forth

Wakefulness stills

My mind fights me

Awake

Not my desired state

Yet here I am

Fighting my own mind

What do I gain

When I win?

As I Blink

I blink

A child’s born

Another blink

He stands

The next

He walks

Each moment

Gently changes

The world

I Dreamt Of Falling

Dreamt of falling
Into a pool of cool water
Falling slowly
Gently, safely
God wants me to know
That I must trust him
To guide me to where
He wants me to go
Develop trust
That his plan
Is what will
Make me the
Best me
I could ever be
Words echoing
Spirits speaking
I’m unaware if
These words
Have any meaning
Outside of my mind
But the sacredness
Which surrounds me
Speaks to me

This Modern Age

We can’t agree

On the color of the sky

Or whether up

Is really there

Or if the sky

Is blue always

Or just sometimes
