Daisy in the Grass

Daisy on the Grass

hiding amidst the grass

purple hints on the edges

the glories of spring

A Valentines Day Haiku

romances evolve

old man and woman hold hands

watching the sunset

I hope your Valentines Day is everything you hope for and need.

An Evening Haiku

through the evening rain

beyond the coming darkness

sun in the future

A Happy Halloween Haiku

disliking horror
I find comfort in children’s
explorations of self

The First Day Of Autumn

holding back the dawn

grey skies resisting sunlight

grace of rain soaked leaves

It’s a classic Seattle autumn morning. One that I delight in. I hope your autumn is off to a good start.

Keep Breathing

Keep breathing deeply

Listen to the birds singing

Sunlight upon trees

Life’s tensions overwhelm at times. Remember to stop, focus on breathing deeply, controlled. Today, while doing this, the bird’s singing became vibrant. It’s what’s really important in life.

Morning Coffee, A #Haiku

Coffee’s gracefulness

Awakening our brain cells

Enabling life

The elixir of life: coffee! Memories of Seattle cafes in the 90s, a broke young man seeking moments of grace. Warmth in the winter rain, another grace. Warm memories of friends and conversation, of connecting with history’s great minds. Coffee consumed, generations apart, cold winter’s rain ensuring the seat, by the window, wondrous.

Morning Haiku, August 3, 2020

wakefulness

reading upon the couch

re-dreaming dreams

Finding it hard to remain awake this morning, awake, asleep, startling awake..the cycle spins, daylight climbs eastern mountains, dawn fades to memory.
