In tonight’s haiku, I try to deal with today’s news

Such wretched sadness
Pained hearts and tears aplenty
Cold rain falling now

Hints of Spring

The tree begins anew
Light flows, that old dance
Colors, bees, birds…you know
Life will carry on long beyond me

A Black History Month Haiku

Black History Month
We forget the dead, white guys
Just for this month

Seeking out ways to incorporate the these into my daily readings and writing. Are you doing anything creative?

This Sunday Afternoon

The sky bright
Through many clouds
Moving quickly
Above the trees
Sunlight caressed
By the wind

Reflecting From Stone

Reflection

Staring at myself
Wetted marble captures me
As I seek balance

If you’ve been to Seattle’s Pacific Science Center, you’ve probably noticed the marble sphere balanced upon water. A perfect equilibrium which allows for an ease of motion; it can be shifted with one hand.

Love Is All You Need

Love is all you need
Against rampant cruelty
Bigotry destroys

Cultural brutality destroys beauty. I found this video powerful, disturbing and thoughtful.  I present to you: “Love Is All You Need”, exploring sexuality, bullying, and the social pressure to conform.

Opened Eyes

I always seek clarity. Often, the more I seek, the less I find.

Once I sketched a lot. Just little things. But the habit waned. A friend’s challenge got me open my sketchbooks again. I’ll rebirth this part of myself.
