Tonight’s Haiku: Breaking Focus, Seeing Autumn

Focusing forwards
Sunlight grabs my attention
And I see fall’s leaves

It’s so easy to get lost in my thoughts. A little flare of sunlight caught my gaze, broke the focus, and I was able to see autumn’s glory right next to me.

A haiku while walking in Everett

History in bricks

Such elegant stateliness

An autumn sunset

Thankfulness Journal: The Beauty Of My Home

So much beauty here

When sun shines, it’s glorious

I also love rain

A Trip To Whidbey Island: A Haiku

A morning journey

Off to the nearby island

With people I love

Spent the morning over in Whidbey Island watching a cross country regional competition. I’ve known many of these kids their whole lives, so there a certain poignancy.

Looking nightward

Exploring Downtown Seattle

My home was once there
The outward shape is still there
And yet, it’s transformed

Walking these old streets
Visions of dirty concrete
Echoes of our past

Grime and poverty
Once marked these streets with their truth
Now airbrushed away

Walking with dear friends
Explorations of this past
Amongst my future
