Will flowers be loved?



Discussing Artificial Intelligence with a friend I wonder if AI will be our contribution to the universe. If Fermi’s Paradox will be overcome by humanity in spite of our drive towards insanity.

Tonight’s Haiku: The Pain of Children


The pain of children 

When adults won’t prevent it 

I don’t understand

A Wish

This child limping 

Long for Jesus’s power 

To heal with a touch 

A Trip To Whidbey Island: A Haiku

A morning journey 

Off to the nearby island 

With people I love 

Spent the morning over in Whidbey Island watching a cross country regional competition. I’ve known many of these kids their whole lives, so there a certain poignancy.

They grow up so fast

My phone buzzes

A beautiful woman

Who I remember

In diapers

I feel joy

At the blessing

Of my simple

Witness 

The Digital Mind

Light and colors dance
Within the digital mind
Silicon children

A Meditation On Artifical Intelligence

Today I wonder
As I consider AI
And our species’ drives;
Is our long-term legacy
Organic or digital?

These children grow tall

Look at these children
So tall, kind and wonderful
I’m filled with rich pride

This sound
Laughing children
Always a delightful way
To awaken
