Respect and Dignity: A Haiku

We are unable

To summon basic respect

For views not our own

As long as we, as a culture, or as a species, struggle to summon basic respect and dignity for each other, we will fail.

Why do villains laugh?

Something I’ve wondred.
Why do villains always laugh?
A puzzling thing

Oh, Editing! A Haiku

First: unload my mind

Next: shape them into beauty

Editing’s anguish

Time for a Friday Haiku

A Friday haiku
What is the root of its joy?
Delightful freedom

Happy Friday, everyone!

Feed your soul joy

Just pursue your dreams
Seek out joy to feed your soul
Fight hard for your heart

May your week be filled with blessings.

Tonight’s Haiku: The Value We Bring

Upon work’s altar
Our lives are a sacrifice
A worthy exchange?

I’ve been thinking about work and our relationship to it.

Monday Morning Alarm Clocks

This Monday morning
My alarm speaks its crass words
My reflex: resist

Ah, the glories of Monday morning’s and those alarm clocks.

Fathers, Daughters, and Snapshots of Beauty

A friend and daughter
The gentle kiss upon her head
Witnessing sweetness

This morning’s meditation

Circumstances speak

As I lay within my bed

Seeing life’s beauty
