Gifts from our loving
Learnings so unexpected
Sunlight dancing down
poetry, prose, and photography
Gifts from our loving
Learnings so unexpected
Sunlight dancing down
Daylight moves westwards
Yet the sun up quite high
The birds are still bold
It delights me so
To see the kids around me
Make better choices
I’m grateful for these:
Joyous children around me
Love’s capacity
He sat watching her
Dancing with another man
Stunned by the anguish
We walked into the cafe
An older couple entered
Through my held door
Hand in hand
Talking to friends
Amidst the youth
And their frantic keystrokes
Lost to the now
Rain’s changing
Drippy drizzle
To wind blown torrent
And the light moving
Across the sky
Puddles forming upon
Untended tables
Can’t forget
What has passed
Some may wish these
Memories to vanish
For me? No…
I hold them dear
Pain and joy
For that’s
Love’s legacy
Exploring our depths
Attraction communicates
Powerfully complex
Light comes from within
That deep-seated place of love
Hard to focus there
