Freedom’s Call

Life is resistance
Often reflexively done
Freedom’s cry is loud.

Despairing of youth
Lamenting lost old ways
Habits of the old

What is forbidden
Is not always wrong, rather
Damages power

Heat and light emerge
Clamoring over tree bark
Night descends to dawn

Challenged by a ghost
Only perfection allowed.
Frustrating myself

Dark, evil thinking,
Creating anguish within;
I shall be sunlight

Logic is empty
Without emotion’s driving
Towards decisions

Journeying these streets
This tiny northern city
Gentle waves on stones

A meditation during my wanderings today.

Rage at the moment
Fluttering away like air;
Tragedy’s horror

Finding myself trapped
The past remains within
Hindering progress
