This wretchedly wet day
Dankest dreariness
Spring’s misery
Exceeding the expectations
Of even Eeyor
poetry, prose, and photography
Roof rattles
Grinding force
Flowing earthwards
Each droplet unites
Living planet’s power
All consuming
High clouds greet the morn
Birds call, seemingly calmer
More subdued, perhaps
Sound absorbed by clouds
Gray skies soothe me, though
Relieved of garish sunlight
Rain is now falling
Seattle reminding me
Of where I live
Into the expanse
Blue water, sky and mountains
Converge in sunlight
In the morning dark
Intense rain’s forceful pounding
Rattling gutters
I awoke this morning to an intense downpour. More like the Philippines or Florida than Seattle.
Dawn comes earlier
Rain tapping on the sunlight
The Friday morning
Rain falls in this town
The most regular event
And still we can’t drive
