Bird Song filled the air

After dawn’s light hit the sky

They scattered: airborne

Sunlight bursting forth

Invigorating my life

Seattle rarity

I awoke to bird song

A bush awash in voices

In this darkness: spring

Spring’s breeze carries hope

Sometimes escaping our gaze

Then, abruptly, here

Air moves
Downwards With
Cold water

Spring’s echos fading
Cool breeze removes vestiges
The cusp of summer
