This Sunday Afternoon

The sky bright
Through many clouds
Moving quickly
Above the trees
Sunlight caressed
By the wind

A first thought this early morn

A gentle breeze blows

Branches scrape against my house

This brusque goose-like cry

Startles me abruptly

A Good Night Haiku

This evening creeps past
My body is now weary
Listening to the wind

I’m fighting some beastly bug. Tis time to let sleep have a go at it.

Tonight’s Haiku: Life’s Complexities

Life’s complexities
Tranquility’s opposite
Argued with moonlight

A Haiku In Honor Of Martin Luther King

Compassion’s pathway

Facing down rage, cruelty, fear

For a gold future

Reflecting From Stone

Reflection

Staring at myself
Wetted marble captures me
As I seek balance

If you’ve been to Seattle’s Pacific Science Center, you’ve probably noticed the marble sphere balanced upon water. A perfect equilibrium which allows for an ease of motion; it can be shifted with one hand.
