Darkness holds its own
Rest is deceptively hard
The street-light’s ally
poetry, prose, and photography
I adore the simplicity, as well as the challenge of Haiku. The constraints focus my mind, seeking out the essence of the moment, feeling, notion, distilling it to brilliant singularity.
My goal: to post at least one haiku a day.
Darkness holds its own
Rest is deceptively hard
The street-light’s ally
Dawn’s light is now here
The highway sound now louder
Crows conversing
A crescent moon
Tinted red by the wind’s
California remnants
“Aretha Franklin”
I honor her by saying
She’s earned my RESPECT
Aretha Franklin Sang Her Way Through America’s History. Her Passing Is the End of an Era
On the edge of sleep
I’m dreaming of road journeys
In a VW van
*pronounce Vee Dub.
Though not inspired
Only feeling weariness
Force myself to write
Though it’s not yet dawn
The neighbor’s dog is howling
Life in the suburbs
Another day begins
Accept my limitations
Find my strengths: excel!
