Walking last night, stepping over and around puddles, remembering so many other nights. An element of this Seattle life.
poetry, prose, and photography
I adore the simplicity, as well as the challenge of Haiku. The constraints focus my mind, seeking out the essence of the moment, feeling, notion, distilling it to brilliant singularity.
My goal: to post at least one haiku a day.

looking up at dusk
the stars starting to appear
the fog of my breath

Father and child
Gazing upon Christmas lights
Embracing wonder

stars to the left
and to the right forever
still brings me wonder
dawn’s promise rises
I listen intently
as the crows argue

clear autumnal morn
bare branches in the still air
refreshed by silence

friends and family
embracing gratitude
embracing joy
I hope your Thanksgiving was refreshing and filled with gratitude.

sunlight from the south
the graceful autumnal air
dances through the trees
It’s been a crazy few days. It felt good to write today.
