A Monday Morning Haiku

Outside the window

The predawn darkness remains

Cursing the alarm

Guess I have a case of the Mondays. Feeling exhausted still. Don’t feel i got enough rest over the weekend. What about you?

All Hail Speed!

All hail performance!

I recklessly pursue speed

Losing quality

I always feel pressure to get things done faster. Speed is everything! Except it’s not. Without quality everything collapses. Pressure starts to build for both, yet they live on the opposite sides of town. Therein lies the challenge, methinks.

The First Step Towards Greatness

Happy Monday…er….Thursday to you! I’ve been out of my office until today. It’ll be a challenge to return. Looking forward to 2019.

A Week’s Movement

A week; a moment

Blur of daylight into night

Flows into winter

In this world that values busyness, it’s hard to focus. Mindfulness consumed by the God of more, of efficiencies. It’s easy to lose sight of what’s important and end up losing far too much time focused on the wrong things. When our actions don’t build towards something greater, we lose so very much.

Moments of Clarity: This Evening’s Haiku

While I look skyward

Moments of clarity shine

This cold autumn sky

A Thursday Wisdom Haiku

Each day is a gift

The path that leads to greatness

Starts within this truth

Go and do great things my friends.

Early morning thoughts

As I prepare for my day

Focusing my life

November’s Theme: Gratitude

It is November

We focus on gratitude

Growing our soul’s grace

Seems appropriate, the month of Thanksgiving, to focus on gratitude. Today’s haiku sets the stage, reminding us of the value of gratitude,  of connection, of interdependence.
