What would you do? What are you doing?

One of the most powerful things I’ve read:

✨How you choose to show up now will define and dictate our collective future. Your voice and actions are that important✨ . What kind of world do you want to live in? . What current systems are you passionate about changing forever? . What rights and injustices are you willing to fight for? . What will you say to your kids when they ask you what you did during this time to create change? . I ask because we are at a vital tipping point. . History has already been made with the world wide #BlackLivesMatter movement. With all 50 U.S states and 18 countries in protest demanding change, we are living through the largest civil rights movement in human history. . We have the momentum now to truly make some huge shifts. But we can’t take our foot off the gas. It’s not over yet. The dismantling of old paradigms has just begun and we get to be part of the solution. . As a soon to be mother, there is NO WAY I’m going to sit here quietly and do nothing to protect the rights and liberties of the black community and all people. . The world I dream of for our son, and all future generations, is one of equality, justice, freedom, compassion, and hope. It’s our responsibility to make that happen NOW. . We are the leaders we have been waiting for. Now is the time to act in all the ways we can. And that looks different for everyone. We all have our unique roles to play. . For more resources and information on how you can help, go to my IG stories. I’m sharing a ton of links and accounts to learn more about systemic racism in the U.S and how you can help the black community right now ❤️✊🏻✊🏼✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿🌍

My friends, be the change you want to see.

June 6, 2020: Morning Haiku

freshest morning light

brightening the clouds at dawn

puddles of songbirds

Watching dawn move on a cloudy morning, light comes through the clouds slowly, gently. The firs brighten, birds wake, yet humanity’s quiet.

The world still convulses, desperate for justice. A new day, an opportunity for change, for hope, for peace.

June 5, Haiku : Trampled Trust

empty, hollow words

unable to find healing

trust that’s been trampled

Do you love women, or just vaginas?

For so many men
The claim they love women
Means they’re fond of vaginas
And they miss so very much

Of what it means to
Connect with others and
Understanding love

For a vagina
Is only a small piece
Of what it means
To be woman

Change

Isn’t it amazing
How destructive
Change can be?
Temperature fluctations
Can shatter the
Incredibly strong.
Radical variations in
Speed rip apart the
Strongest of machines.

Humanity often needs
Such violence. Bringing
About radical new social
Orders, birthing freedom
From history’s wretched
Injustices.
