The sun has set

Sun set a while ago

Darkness fills the air

Comforting: I find it so

Freed from sunlight’s care

A Seattle Morning

High clouds greet the morn

Birds call, seemingly calmer

More subdued, perhaps

Sound absorbed by clouds

Gray skies soothe me, though

Relieved of garish sunlight

Evening Lightening

Flickering briefly

Lightning burns across the sky

Jagged movements blur
Updated: spell check got me, changing “lightning” to “lightening”

Today

We walked into the cafe

An older couple entered

Through my held door
Hand in hand

Talking to friends

Amidst the youth

And their frantic keystrokes

Lost to the now
Rain’s changing

Drippy drizzle

To wind blown torrent

And the light moving

Across the sky
Puddles forming upon

Untended tables

The importance of the arts

Each creative act
Exploring beauty’s boundaries
Brings more light to being

A cup; empty and full

Overflowing with sunlight

A cup: empty and full

Two sides of the same

Moment

Morning moves forward

Morning moves forward

Dawn’s transition fades to light

Life, again, renewed

Rain upon the skylight

Inside these blank walls
Rain falls upon the skylight
I stare at a screen

Looking at the Dawn

Dawn rises quickly

Or perhaps that’s just illusion?

The birds are singing

A spring dawn

Bird Song filled the air

After dawn’s light hit the sky

They scattered: airborne
