Sunlight Rising

A moth fluttering
Upon the grass stalks
The rising sunlight

Exploring Home

I seek out beauty
The glories of Washington
My ancestors speak

Poetry’s Power

Once I was told
Poetry’s power
Comes from framing
Life so uniquely
That people see
Truths they’re hiding from

Experimenting with using the graphic to separate my prose from the poem.  What do you think?

Standing Atop A Mountain: A Haiku

Standing in the wind
Atop a barren mountain
Alone with my dreams

Time to Awaken

Time to awaken
Put my feet upon the floor
Go forth and do things

Come check out my latest project: Forward Facing, where I explore effectiveness, motivation and harnessing positive energy to create a great life.

Smoke on this Evening Breeze

Hot summer’s evening
The scent of smoke alarming
Nothing to fear, right?

Night Gently Calling

Night gently falling

Slumber’s insistent demands

Speaking to me, too

Once I LISTENED to Music

No longer

Do I listen deeply

Pulling apart

Words, lyrics

Melody

Harmony

Trying so hard

To embrace

A song’s

Soul

Walking under the stars

Walking under stars

Tranquillity of evening

Peace filling my soul

Brother’s Keeper

I am my brother’s keeper

Or, at least, so I try

Though difficult

Deeply worthwhile
