A Seattle Autumn: A Haiku

As I look skyward

The memories fill my mind

Seattle’s autumns

An early evening haiku

With darkness falling

The sun shining from down low

Easily through trees

Friday Early Morning: A Haiku

As the daylight fades
Thus day becomes memory
Glorious springtime

Today’s Haiku, May 8, 2019

Dawn’s gracefulness past

Light flowing through my window

Through firs and hemlocks

Is it pretentious to call myself a poet?

I love poetry

Am I pretentious enough

Claiming me “poet”

In today’s cold fog: a haiku

In today’s cold fog

Sunlight never reached the ground

Winter approaches

Mindfulness in Chaos

Facing down chaos

Though I spend time focusing

New demands arise

What are we seeking?

Dawn Approaches

Now dawn’s approaching

Soon the demands of work speak

Enjoy the silence

As one stares upwards

Admiring ornate art

Expressions in stone

Another image found on Bing (it’s from this website. Really interesting work).

I’ve long admire such stonework. The craftsmanship is exquisite, but I’m even more impressed by the mind the conceived it.
