This haiku came to me after reading “Houston Dad Handles Bully Beautifully“.

When facing evil 

Focusing fully on grace 

Always seek to grow 

Grace can accomplish many great things, as it requires courage to step forward in such a way.  

Siouxsie and the Banshees: A Haiku

I hear Siouxsie Sioux
Burning ash and destruction
Cities in the dust

The music of the 80s speaks to me. So many memories, pain and joy, anguish and exaltation.

Autocorrected AnnoyancesĀ 

Now I grow weary 

Of fixing autocorrect

And its bad choices

Spent the morning over in Whidbey Island watching a cross country regional competition. I’ve known many of these kids their whole lives, so there a certain poignancy.

Today’s Motivation: The Best Time To Plant A TreeĀ 


I find myself doubting my past, second guessing my choices. This quote, this proverb  reminds me of the pointlessness of that behavior. That I need to keep my eyes in the now, on the future. And so I get up and move forward.
