Grace: A Haiku

Here is my contribution to today’s Word of the Day challenge: Grace.

I think a lot about grace. Its importance both to us, and to society. How grace enables humans to function together, and is the magic elixir that ends conflict. And that grace is undervalued, perhaps even reviled. We live in brutal times, my friends.

A Haiku About Grace

The Grace Of Fresh Snow

I look at the night

Upon freshly fallen snow

I’m struck by the grace

It’s a beautiful, snowy night here in Seattle. It feels wonderful, though I dread tomorrow’s commute.

Modern Culture

Dignity and grace?

As I view this cool, grey morn

I hear echo’s rage

A Thanksgiving Haiku/Senryu

Seek a grace filled life

So important: attitude

Embrace gratitude

Seeking Positive Energy

I must fill my soul

With positive energy

So I exude grace

What you feed your soul becomes the core of your being. Be thoughtful.

A Poet’s Response To “Houston Dad Handles Bully Beautifully”

This haiku came to me after reading “Houston Dad Handles Bully Beautifully“.

When facing evil

Focusing fully on grace

Always seek to grow

Grace can accomplish many great things, as it requires courage to step forward in such a way.

Seeing Grace

With gentle kindness r

Seeking grace at every turn

Bettering my life

I try to focus on grace. Avoiding judgement and rage, I seek to jive my life focused on adding joy.

Moments

At times
It is hard to remember
All the good in the world
Despair is a cruel teacher

Grapple with thankfulness
And accept the grace of love
That comes, truly, it comes
Often unexpectedly
